Rally for a World without Walls – Paris, 9 November 2017
On the Global Day of Action for a World without Walls , a rally was held in Paris at the Porte de Versailles, on the Esplanade of 9 November 1989 (date of the fall of the Berlin Wall).
Over 50 people took part and speeches were made by representatives of the following:
Mouvement de la Paix ( Movement for Peace);
the Paris branch of AFPS (France-Palestine Solidarity Association);
the Solidaires trade union; BDS France – Paris;
the anti-colonialism network Sortir du Colonialisme;
the collective for support to the Saharawi people;
MRAP (Movement against racism and for friendship between peoples);
the collective for support to Georges Ibrahim Abdallah;
and the Marcheurs de la Paix (Marchers for Peace).
All participants chanted the slogan: « From Palestine through Calais to Mexico, the Walls must Fall! »
The speeches focused on walls and their repressive role in this period of international crises, on solidarity with the populations who are their victims, and also on political prisoners including Georges Ibrahim Abdullah, Salah Hamouri and the other Palestinian political prisoners.
