Plus de 140 artistes signent une lettre appelant au boycott de l’Eurovision 2019 si elle a lieu en Israël

Eurovision, ne blanchissez pas l’occupation militaire et les violations des droits humains par Israël

Nous, sous-signés, artistes d’Europe et d’ailleurs, soutenons le vibrant appel des artistes palestiniens à boycotter le Concours de l’Eurovision 2019 qui doit être accueilli par Israël. Jusqu’à ce que les Palestiniens puissent jouir de la liberté, de la justice et des droits égaux de tous les êtres humains, il ne devrait pas y avoir de « business-as-usual » avec l’état qui dénie leurs droits fondamentaux.

Le 14 mai, quelques jours après la victoire d’Israël à l’Eurovision, l’armée israélienne a tué 62 manifestants palestiniens non armés à Gaza, dont six enfantset en a blessé des centainesla plupart à balles réellesAmnesty International a condamné la politique israélienne de « tirer-pour-tuer-ou-mutiler » et Human Rights Watch a décrit les massacres comme « illégaux et calculés ».

L’ Eurovision 2019 devrait être boycotté s’il est accueilli par Israël, alors que ce pays continue depuis des décennies ses graves violations des droits humains palestiniens.

Nous comprenons que l’Union européenne de radio-télévision demande qu’Israël trouve un lieu «  non conflictuel » pour l’Eurovision 2019. Elle devrait annuler complètement l’accueil du concours par Israël et le déplacer vers un autre pays avec un meilleur dossier en matière de droits humains. L’injustice divise, alors que la poursuite de la dignité et des droits humains réunit.
